The perpetual transformation of the space is closely tied to the presence of agents, referred to as "actors," who serve as custodians of various scenes, encapsulating and gathering memories imbued with subconscious behaviors. These actors possess distinctive personalities and methods for shaping their surroundings. Each begins their journey within a designated region but may venture into other territories, either to spark events or influence the inclinations of fellow actors.

This endeavor also serves as a canvas for what we term "2.5D" - a fusion of 2D and 3D. Imagine a memory as a frozen image of a scene. When you revisit that scene, your brain distorts the image in its attempt to recreate the past. The mindscapes of Detours & Deviations are crafted with elements that are more than planar yet not entirely three-dimensional. We've been exploring the potential of techniques like photogrammetry, projection mapping, decal, and more.

At its current prototype phase, the project features three active interconnected actors, each with their designated playable territories. The ongoing objective is to advance the development of additional environments and to foster influences among the diverse entities. The vision is to introduce a minimum of five fully developed actors performing concurrently. As players explore the dynamically reshaping world, the journey unfolds seamlessly. This browser-based game not only allows for the storage of gameplay data but also facilitates an intriguing interaction with other players' memories. As you create your own unique memories, others will encounter and experience them in diverse ways, adding a layer of shared narrative to this evolving, immersive experience.
